Frequently asked questions
Is this the official CELPIP Listening test?
No. This is an independent practice course. The recordings and questions are original and copy only the task types of each part. For official samples, use the free practice tests on the CELPIP website.
What does the certificate of completion show?
It shows that you finished this course and scored at least 80% on its final assessment. It is not a CELPIP result or level, and it cannot be used as proof of English for immigration, citizenship, work or school.
How do the listening questions work here?
Press the play button and your device reads the script aloud, with a different voice for each speaker when your device has them. The real test uses recorded audio and a video in Part 5. For realistic practice, play each recording only once and read the script after you answer.
Can my practice score tell me my CELPIP level?
No. Official Listening scores are converted from a raw score to a scaled score and then to a CELPIP level, and the number of correct answers needed for each level can change slightly between test forms. Practice scores here are feedback only.
Is the Listening test the same in the CELPIP-General LS test?
The official citizenship page says the LS test assesses only Listening and Speaking, and lists a Listening section of 38 questions in 46–55 minutes. Always check the Government of Canada's current requirements before you book.
How long is the final assessment?
It has 38 questions in 50 minutes, close to the real test's 46–55 minutes. The questions are drawn at random from the whole course, so every attempt is different.
Is the certificate accredited or officially recognised?
No. It is a private certificate of completion for knowledge only. It is not recognised, accredited or approved by any government, licensing body, regulator or educational institution, and it does not replace any licence, certification or training required by law.
