Frequently asked questions
Is this the official CELPIP Speaking test?
No. This is an independent practice course. All prompts, sample responses and questions are original and only follow the official task types. For official samples, use the free practice tests on the CELPIP website.
What does the certificate of completion show?
It shows that you finished this course and scored at least 80% on its final assessment. It is not a CELPIP result or level, and it cannot be used as proof of English for immigration, citizenship, work or school.
Can this course tell me my CELPIP Speaking level?
No. Official Speaking levels come from trained raters who listen to your recorded answers. The quiz scores here only show how well you know the tasks and strategies; they are feedback, not an official CELPIP score.
How do I practise speaking with this course?
Use the exercises in the lessons. Plan with the frame, record yourself with a timer for the real speaking time, then compare your answer with the model answer and check it against the four rating dimensions.
Is the Speaking test the same in CELPIP-General LS?
Yes. The official CELPIP website lists the same Speaking section, 8 tasks in 15 minutes, for both CELPIP-General and CELPIP-General LS.
How long is the final assessment?
It has 36 questions in 36 minutes, drawn at random from the whole course, so every attempt is different. You need 80% to pass.
Is the certificate accredited or officially recognised?
No. It is a private certificate of completion for knowledge only. It is not recognised, accredited or approved by any government, licensing body, regulator or educational institution, and it does not replace any licence, certification or training required by law.
