Under section 494(2) of the Criminal Code, who may arrest a person found committing a criminal offence on or in relation to a store's property?
    Ipakita ang sagot

Sagot: B. The owner, a person in lawful possession, or a person they authorize, such as loss prevention staff

Section 494(2) gives this power to property owners, lawful possessors and people they authorize. Store policy may still limit when staff make arrests.

    Ipakita ang sagot

    Ipakita ang sagot

    Ipakita ang sagot

Sagot: D. You cannot force a search; follow store policy and call police if you have grounds

  8. Tanong 8 ng 25

Many retailers require several elements before staff stop a suspected shoplifter. Which list matches common practice?
    Ipakita ang sagot

Sagot: A. See the person select the item, conceal it, keep watching them, and see them pass the last point of sale without paying

Seeing each step and keeping continuous watch helps make sure you saw an offence. A stop without that certainty risks a false arrest.

You lose sight of a suspect for a minute before they leave the store. What should you do?
    Ipakita ang sagot

    Ipakita ang sagot

Sagot: D. Keep it secure, record it, and follow policy for handing it to police
