Germany First Aid Course Knowledge Quiz 2026
Everyone who applies for a German driving licence must attend a first aid course (Erste-Hilfe-Kurs) of nine teaching units. The course ends with a certificate, not an exam, so this is a knowledge quiz to check what you learned: emergency calls, CPR, the recovery position, bleeding, burns, choking and sudden illness, based on German Red Cross (DRK) and DGUV guidance. It is study material, not medical advice.

No. The course for the driving licence ends with a certificate of attendance. This quiz is only a way to check your knowledge.
How long is the Erste-Hilfe-Kurs for the driving licence?
At least nine teaching units of 45 minutes, usually taught in one day, with theory and practical exercises.
Does my first aid certificate expire for the driving licence?
For the licence, no. You need the certificate when you apply, and you do not need a new one when the licence is extended or renewed. Workplace first aiders must refresh every two years.
