Vanliga frågor
Does this course replace my state guard training?
No. Many states license security officers and set their own training. For example, California's Bureau of Security and Investigative Services requires Power to Arrest training before registration, 32 hours of skills training in the first 6 months and 8 hours every year. This course is background knowledge only.
Can I ask for proof that a dog is a service animal?
No. Under the ADA you may ask only whether the dog is required because of a disability and what task it is trained to do. You may not ask for papers, an ID card or a demonstration.
When should I stop trying to de-escalate?
When violence seems about to happen, or the situation is beyond your ability. Remove yourself, get to safety and call 911 or your backup.
What if someone talks about suicide?
Stay calm and get help. They can call or text 988 or chat online with the 988 Lifeline. If there is an immediate danger to life, call 911.
