Cosa sapere prima del test
- Employers must provide competent signallers when construction may expose workers to traffic (General Regulation 91-191, s. 91(1)).

- A flagperson's paddle must be at least 60 cm by 60 cm, with Stop on one side and Slow on the other.

Domande frequenti
Do I need a certificate to be a flagger in New Brunswick?
The law does not require one. Section 91(1) of General Regulation 91-191 requires signallers to be competent. WorkSafeNB says a certificate is the easiest way for an employer to show competence, but not the only way.
What colour must a flagperson wear in New Brunswick?
Regulation 89-101 requires a blaze orange vest, shirt or jacket that is not covered by other clothing and is reflectorized at night. High-visibility apparel must also meet CSA Z96-15 (R2020) or an equivalent standard.
Can a security guard direct traffic on a public road?
Not on their own authority. A guard has the powers of a private citizen only. Traffic on a road should be controlled by a competent signaller as part of the employer's traffic control set-up.
What is the Work Area Traffic Control Manual?
It is the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure's set of traffic control guidelines for work on provincially designated roads. WorkSafeNB recommends it.
