Questions fréquentes

Do I need a card or accreditation to control traffic in Australia?

On public roads, yes. Each state sets its own rules: NSW uses the SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training card, Queensland uses TMR accreditation and WA uses Main Roads WA accreditation. This course is background knowledge only and does not give you a card.

Can a security officer direct cars in a car park?

It depends on your state and your post orders. Queensland, for example, does not require accreditation to direct traffic within a car park, but TMR still advises suitable training and safety clothing, and WHS laws apply.

Is my traffic controller accreditation valid in other states?

Not automatically. Queensland accreditation only works in Queensland. Under the Austroads framework, interstate recognition needs any required local content to be completed with an approved provider in the new state.

What is a stop-slow bat course?

It is training in the national unit RIIWHS205E Control traffic with stop-slow bat, done with a registered or approved training provider as part of a traffic controller qualification.

L’attestation est-elle accréditée ou reconnue officiellement ?

Non.
