Frequently asked questions
How long do I have to wait for my M1 road test?
At least 60 days. Your M1 licence is valid for only 90 days, so book your road test before it expires.
Can I carry a passenger on an M1 licence?
No. M1 riders may not carry passengers. They must also ride only in daylight and have a blood alcohol level of zero.
Is the Ontario M1 test timed?
No. DriveTest knowledge tests are not timed. You need a total score of at least 80% to pass.

What is an M2-L licence?
It is for mopeds and limited-speed motorcycles up to 70 km/h, ridden on roads with a maximum speed limit of 80 km/h.
