Vanliga frågor
Is verbal abuse really work-related violence?
Yes. HSE's definition includes verbal abuse and threats made face to face, online or by phone, not only physical attacks.
What should I do if calming words do not work?
If you feel unsafe, use a diversion such as saying you need to check with a manager, follow your emergency procedures, and move to safety. Call 999 if anyone is in danger.
Do I have to report every incident?
Record every incident in your employer's system. Your employer must report to HSE any violence causing death, a specified injury or more than 7 days off normal duties.
Does this course count as SIA conflict management training?
No. Front line security roles need an SIA licence and licence-linked training from an approved provider. Physical intervention also needs proper hands-on training. This course is background knowledge only.
