  3. Pergunta 3 de 25

A caller asks the front desk which room their friend is staying in. What is the right response?
    Mostrar resposta

Resposta: A. Do not give the room number; offer to pass on a message or connect the call if the guest agrees

Guest details, including whether someone is staying and their room number, are personal information. Protect them and let the guest decide whether to make contact.

  4. Pergunta 4 de 25

A person says they lost their room key card and asks for a new one. What should happen first?
    Mostrar resposta

Resposta: A. Confirm they are the registered guest for that room, following hotel policy

    Mostrar resposta

Resposta: A. Two staff attend, knock, announce who they are, wait, and record what they find

Perguntas frequentes

Can hotel security enter a guest's room?

Only for a clear reason allowed by hotel policy, such as a welfare concern or an emergency. Knock, announce yourself, wait, bring a second staff member where possible, and record the entry.

Can a hotel guard remove a non-guest from the lobby?

A guard acting for the hotel can tell a non-guest to leave. Under provincial trespass laws, refusing to leave when told is an offence. If the person will not go, call police rather than using force.

Is trespass law the same in every province?

No. Each province has its own trespass law, such as Ontario's Trespass to Property Act and Alberta's Trespass to Premises Act. The basic idea is similar: the occupier can tell people to leave, and calling police is the safest way to deal with someone who refuses.

What should I do if I suspect human trafficking?

If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911. Otherwise, write down what you saw, tell your manager, and call the Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-833-900-1010 or local police.
