Perguntas frequentes
Do I need a licence to work as a crowd controller?
Yes. Crowd control work needs a licence from your state or territory regulator, for example a crowd controller licence in Queensland and WA, or a 1A Security Officer licence in NSW. You need accredited training first. This course is background knowledge only.
Can a crowd controller refuse someone entry?
Yes, when acting for the licensee or occupier. Liquor laws let venues refuse entry to people who are intoxicated, violent, quarrelsome or disorderly, but refusals must not be discriminatory.
How long is a person banned after being removed from a NSW venue?
Under the Liquor Act 2007, they must not re-enter the venue for 24 hours, and must not stay within 50 metres for 6 hours unless they have a reasonable excuse.
How many crowd controllers does an event need?
It depends on the risk. Victorian guidelines suggest, as a rough guide for low-risk events only, at least two for the first 100 patrons at licensed events and one for each extra 100.
