Quiz tematico 1: The GED Math test, the calculator and a plan
-
Domanda 1 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: C. 115 minutes
The Math test takes 115 minutes. That includes 2 minutes of instructions and final review and a 3-minute break between the two parts.
-
Domanda 2 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: B. 145
You need at least 145 on each subject. 165 and 175 are the starts of the College Ready and College Ready + Credit levels.

Domanda 3 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: B. Part 2 only
The onscreen calculator is available on Part 2. The 3-minute break between parts lets you get your own calculator at a test center.
-
Domanda 4 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: B. Your own TI-30XS
GED Testing Service allows your own TI-30XS at the test center. The same model is also on screen.
-
Domanda 5 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: A. No, it is on the formula sheet during the test
A formula sheet is given at the test center and on screen. It includes area formulas for shapes such as the trapezoid.
-
Domanda 6 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: C. Drag and drop
Math questions include multiple choice, drag and drop, fill-in-the-blank, select an area and drop-down. The essay is part of the Language Arts test.
-
Domanda 7 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: D. College Ready (165–174)
170 falls in the College Ready range of 165 to 174. It is also above the 145 needed to pass.
-
Domanda 8 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: D. No, only correct answers count
Only correct answers count toward your score, and there is no penalty for guessing. So answer every question and never leave one blank.
-
Domanda 9 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: B. Switches between fraction and decimal forms
The calculator reference sheet shows that the toggle key switches between fraction and decimal, exact root and decimal, and exact π and decimal forms.
-
Domanda 10 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: C. 18
The TI-30XS follows the standard order of operations, so it multiplies first: 4 × 3 = 12, then 6 + 12 = 18.
-
Domanda 11 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: A. Write all the numbers in the same form, such as decimals
To compare fractions and decimals, change them to the same form first: 0.7, about 0.667 and 0.6.
-
Domanda 12 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: B. Score “green” on the GED Ready Math practice test within the last 60 days
For each subject you test online, you need a “green” GED Ready result from the last 60 days.
-
Domanda 13 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: A. No, only onscreen tools are allowed
Online testers cannot use a physical calculator or scratch paper. An onscreen calculator, scratch pad and whiteboard are given instead.
-
Domanda 14 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: D. About $100
Round each price: $20 + $30 + $50 = $100. The exact total, $99.99, is close, so it is reasonable.
-
Domanda 15 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: C. 12 miles
Weekly pay = hours × hourly rate = 32 × $15.50. The driving distance is extra information.
-
Domanda 16 di 16
Mostra la risposta
Risposta: C. Recheck it: each piece must be under 12 feet
Pieces of a board must be shorter than the board. You multiplied instead of dividing: 12 ÷ 4 = 3 feet.

Domande frequenti
Is this the official GED Math test?
No. This is an independent practice course. It is not run by GED Testing Service, and your scores here are not GED® results.
What does the certificate from this course show?
The certificate of completion shows that you finished this practice course and scored at least 80% on its final assessment. It is not a GED® credential, not a high school equivalency and not an official score, so schools and employers will not accept it in place of the GED®.
Why is the pass mark 80% here when the GED needs 145?
The GED uses a score scale where 145 is the passing score on each subject; it is not a percent. We set a high bar of 80% so that a pass here is a good sign you are ready.
Can I use a calculator on the GED Math test?
Only on Part 2. It has an onscreen TI-30XS calculator, and at a test center you may bring your own TI-30XS. On the online test you cannot use a physical calculator. Practice Part 1 skills by hand.
Is the GED for people in Canada?
This course is about the US GED® test. In Canada, the Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) replaced the GED® in 2024, so Canadian adults should prepare for the CAEC instead.
How do I sign up for the GED Math test?
Create an account on ged.com, then choose a test center or online testing, pick your subjects, a date and a time, and pay online. Prices and rules depend on your state.
L’attestato è accreditato o riconosciuto ufficialmente?
