Quiz tematico 1: Cloud concepts: models, pricing and service types

  1. Domanda 1 di 20

    What is cloud computing?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: B. Delivering computing services over the internet

Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services, such as virtual machines, storage, databases and networking, over the internet.

  2. Domanda 2 di 20

Which of these is a common example of software as a service (SaaS)?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: D. An email and calendar service that staff simply sign in to

SaaS is a complete, ready-to-use application. Email, messaging and productivity apps are common SaaS examples.

  3. Domanda 3 di 20

What makes a cloud a public cloud?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: C. A third-party provider runs it, and anyone can buy its services

A public cloud is built, controlled and maintained by a third-party provider. Its general availability to anyone who wants to buy services is the key difference from a private cloud.

  4. Domanda 4 di 20

Which statement describes a private cloud?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: B. One organization uses it, with more control but higher cost

A private cloud is used by a single organization. It gives more control, but it costs more and you buy and maintain the hardware.

  5. Domanda 5 di 20

How is spending on cloud services usually classified?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: D. As an operational expense (OpEx)

You pay for cloud services as you use them, so cloud computing is an operational expense. CapEx is up-front spending on physical things such as servers.

  6. Domanda 6 di 20

Which is a benefit of the consumption-based model?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: C. You can release resources when demand drops and stop paying for them

In the consumption-based model you pay only for what you use. You can add resources when demand rises and release them when it drops.

  7. Domanda 7 di 20

Where does Microsoft write down the uptime guarantee for an Azure service?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: D. In the service's SLA

Azure's uptime guarantees depend on the service and are part of its service-level agreement (SLA).

  8. Domanda 8 di 20

An app's virtual machine is too slow, so you give it more CPUs and RAM. What type of scaling is this?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: A. Vertical scaling (scaling up)

Vertical scaling changes the size of a resource, such as adding CPUs or RAM to a VM. Horizontal scaling changes the number of resources.

  9. Domanda 9 di 20

During a sale, an online store adds four extra virtual machines, then removes them when the sale ends. What is this?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: B. Horizontal scaling: out, then back in

Horizontal scaling adds or removes resources, such as VMs. Adding them is scaling out; removing them is scaling in.

  10. Domanda 10 di 20

In the shared responsibility model, what is ALWAYS the cloud provider's responsibility?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: C. The physical datacentre, network and hosts

The provider is always responsible for the physical datacentre, physical network and physical hosts. Your data, devices, accounts and identities always stay with you.

  11. Domanda 11 di 20

Which responsibility always stays with the customer, whether the service is IaaS, PaaS or SaaS?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: D. The information and data stored in the cloud

You are always responsible for your data, the devices allowed to connect, and your accounts and identities. Physical items belong to the provider.

  12. Domanda 12 di 20

Which cloud service type places the most responsibility on the customer?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: C. Infrastructure as a service (IaaS)

IaaS puts the most responsibility on the customer, SaaS puts most of it on the provider, and PaaS sits in the middle.

  13. Domanda 13 di 20

A company keeps sensitive records in its own private cloud but adds Azure resources during its busy season. Which cloud model is this?
    Mostra la risposta

    Risposta: C. Hybrid cloud

A hybrid cloud connects public and private clouds. A private cloud can surge into the public cloud for temporary extra demand.

  14. Domanda 14 di 20

A company uses services from two different public cloud providers. Which cloud model is this?
    Mostra la risposta

    Risposta: B. Multicloud

In a multicloud scenario you use two or more public cloud providers and manage resources and security in each.

  15. Domanda 15 di 20

A company wants to move its existing servers to the cloud quickly, with as few changes as possible. Which service type fits best?
    Mostra la risposta

    Risposta: C. IaaS

Lift-and-shift migration is a common IaaS scenario: you set up cloud resources like your on-premises servers and move the workloads.

  16. Domanda 16 di 20

Developers want to build and run apps without installing, licensing or patching operating systems and databases. Which service type fits best?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: D. Platform as a service (PaaS)

In PaaS the provider maintains the operating systems, middleware and development tools, so you don't license or patch the OS or database.

  17. Domanda 17 di 20

What does reliability mean in cloud computing?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: A. A system's ability to recover from failures and keep working

Reliability is the ability of a system to recover from failures and continue to function. It is a pillar of the Azure Well-Architected Framework.

  18. Domanda 18 di 20

Which statement best describes serverless computing with Azure Functions?
    Mostra la risposta

Risposta: B. An event runs your code and you don't maintain any VMs

Azure Functions is event-driven and serverless. You don't maintain VMs or containers, and Azure charges only for the CPU time used while the function runs.

  19. Domanda 19 di 20

A company will run the same database VMs for the next three years. Which pricing option lowers the cost by committing to those specific resources?
    Mostra la risposta

    Risposta: A. Reservations

With reservations you commit to specific resources, such as VMs, databases or storage, for one or three years to reduce cost.

  20. Domanda 20 di 20

A team runs a nightly batch job that can simply restart if it is stopped. Which option uses unused Azure capacity at a lower price?
    Mostra la risposta

    Risposta: D. Spot Virtual Machines

Spot pricing uses unused Azure capacity at lower prices, but Azure can evict the VM when it needs the capacity back, so it suits work that can be interrupted.

Cosa sapere prima del test

  • AZ-900 measures three skill areas: describe cloud concepts (25–30%), describe Azure architecture and services (35–40%), and describe Azure management and governance (30–35%).
  • Passing the exam earns the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification, a beginner-level certification.
  • You have 45 minutes to complete the exam. It is proctored and may include interactive components.
  • Scores are reported on a scale of 1 to 1,000, and you need 700 or greater to pass. Because the score is scaled, 700 may not equal 70% of the points.
  • There is no penalty for guessing, and some questions may be unscored, so answer every question.
  • If the exam isn't offered in your preferred language, you can request an additional 30 minutes.
  • The exam price is based on the country or region where it is proctored.
  • Fundamentals certifications do not expire.

Domande frequenti

Is this the official AZ-900 exam?

No. This is an independent practice course. It is not run or endorsed by Microsoft, and your scores here are not AZ-900 results.

What does the certificate from this course show?

The certificate of completion shows that you finished this practice course and scored at least 80% on its final assessment. It is not the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification and not an official result, so employers will not accept it in its place.

How many questions are on the real AZ-900 exam?

Microsoft's exam pages don't list a fixed number of questions. They say you have 45 minutes and that the exam may include interactive components. Microsoft's free exam sandbox shows how the exam looks.

Why is the pass mark 80% here when AZ-900 needs 700?

AZ-900 uses a scaled score from 1 to 1,000, and 700 may not equal 70% of the points. We set a higher bar so that a pass here is a good sign you are ready.

Does the Azure Fundamentals certification expire?

No. Microsoft says Fundamentals certifications do not expire, unlike associate, expert and specialty certifications, which you renew each year.

Where do I book the real exam?

Start on the AZ-900 exam page on Microsoft Learn and schedule through Pearson VUE. Students and educators can also schedule through Certiport. Microsoft recommends registering with a personal Microsoft account.

L’attestato è accreditato o riconosciuto ufficialmente?
