The Class 7 knowledge test is the first step to driving in Alberta. It has 30 multiple-choice questions and you need 25 correct to pass. These practice questions cover Alberta’s graduated licensing rules, road signs and the rules of the road.

What to know before the test

- Class 7 drivers must have 0% alcohol, drive only with a supervisor over 18 who holds a full Class 5 licence or higher, and not drive between midnight and 5 a.m.
- You must hold your Class 7 licence for at least 12 months and be at least 16 before taking the Class 5 road test.
- Since April 1, 2023, you no longer need an advanced road test to leave the Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) program.
