Häufig gestellte Fragen

Is this course enough to learn first aid skills?

No. It gives awareness only. Take a hands-on first aid and CPR course from a recognized training agency to learn and practise the skills.

Do I need permission to help someone?

Yes, ask a person who is awake for consent. If they are unresponsive, the law assumes you have permission.

What if I am not willing to give rescue breaths?

Call 9-1-1 and give chest compressions. Use an AED as soon as one arrives.

Can I get in trouble for helping?

Provinces have laws that protect people who help in good faith. For example, Alberta's Emergency Medical Aid Act protects voluntary helpers unless they are grossly negligent.
