Häufig gestellte Fragen
Can I ask someone what their disability is?
No. Focus on what the person needs, not their diagnosis. In Ontario, you may ask for documentation about a service animal only when it is not obvious that it is one.
Do accessibility rules differ by province?
Yes. Ontario and Manitoba have detailed customer service standards, Alberta and B.C. have service dog laws, and the federal Accessible Canada Act covers federally regulated organizations. Human rights laws apply everywhere.
What if a guest is allergic to or afraid of a service dog?
Look for a reasonable compromise, such as seating people apart. Alberta guidance says businesses cannot simply send the team to a separate area like a patio.
Ist die Bescheinigung akkreditiert oder offiziell anerkannt?
Nein.
