Mga madalas itanong
Is there an official government first aid or CPR test in the US?
No. Training organizations such as the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross run courses and issue certificates. Some jobs require a specific provider or course.
What changed for choking in the 2025 guidelines?
For adults and children with severe choking, give 5 back blows followed by 5 abdominal thrusts, and repeat. For infants, alternate 5 back blows with 5 chest thrusts.
What is Hands-Only CPR?
If you see a teen or adult suddenly collapse, call 911 and push hard and fast in the center of the chest. It is appropriate for rescuers who are untrained or unwilling to give breaths.
How deep should I push during CPR?
At least 2 inches (5 cm) for an average adult, but not more than 2.4 inches (6 cm). About 2 inches (5 cm) for a child and about 1.5 inches (4 cm) for an infant.
Do I need to be certified to use an AED?
AEDs are designed for the public and give voice prompts. Training helps you act quickly and confidently, so a CPR and AED course is a good idea.
