Domande frequenti
Is there a working alone law in Yukon?
There is no separate working-alone regulation. Section 27(1)(f) of the Workers' Safety and Compensation Act requires employers to make efforts to check on workers who might not be able to get help, and hazard assessment and first aid rules also apply.
How often must a lone worker check in in Yukon?
Yukon law does not set an interval. The employer sets one based on the hazard assessment, and it should fit the risk of the post.
How do I refuse unsafe work in Yukon?
Tell your supervisor or employer right away. If the problem is not fixed after two investigations, the employer must report it to the WSCB and a safety officer decides. You keep your pay.
How do I contact the Yukon WSCB?
Call 867-667-5645 or 1-800-661-0443. For serious incidents, use the 24-hour line at 867-667-5450.
