Cosa sapere prima del test

  • The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, 1992 is an Act to promote public safety in the transportation of dangerous goods.
  • The Act sorts dangerous goods into nine classes, from Class 1 Explosives to Class 9 Miscellaneous products, substances or organisms.
  • The employer issues the TDG training certificate, and for road transport it expires 36 months after it is issued.
  • Placards are at least 250 mm on each side and go on each side and each end of a large means of containment, but on a road vehicle most dangerous goods with a gross mass of 500 kg or less need no placard.
  • While the driver is in the power unit, the shipping document must be in a pocket on the driver's door or within the driver's reach.
  • CANUTEC, the Canadian Transport Emergency Centre, answers 24 hours a day at 1-888-CAN-UTEC (226-8832), 613-996-6666 or *666 from a cellphone.
  • A release or anticipated release report goes to CANUTEC and the consignor, and a written follow-up report is due within 30 days.

Domande frequenti

Is the certificate from this course my TDG training certificate?

No. If you pass the final assessment you get a PassEveryTest Certificate of Completion, which shows you finished this general course. It is not the TDG training certificate that your employer must issue under Part 6 of the TDG Regulations, and it is not an accredited qualification or a government certification.

Who issues a TDG training certificate?

Your employer, once it has reasonable grounds to believe you are adequately trained for your duties. Self-employed people issue their own. Certificates are not transferable, so a new employer must issue its own.

Does this course meet my job's TDG training requirements?

Not on its own. Training must cover the goods you work with and your own duties, and your employer decides whether you are adequately trained. Use this course as background and follow your employer's training and procedures.

Do Canadian truck drivers need a hazmat endorsement on their licence?

Transport Canada says Canadian drivers are not required to have a hazmat endorsement on their driver's licence to transport dangerous goods. They need adequate training and a valid TDG training certificate, or must work under direct supervision.

How does the final assessment work?

It has 35 questions drawn at random from the course question bank, with a 35-minute time limit. You need 80% to pass, and each attempt gives you a new mix of questions.

Does this course cover rail, marine or air transport?

No. It focuses on road transport in Canada. Rail, marine and air have extra rules in Parts 10 to 12 of the TDG Regulations, and air training certificates expire after 24 months instead of 36.

L’attestato è accreditato o riconosciuto ufficialmente?
