Questions fréquentes
How many points do I need to pass the Polish theory test?
At least 68 out of 74. Questions are worth 3, 2 or 1 point, so you can lose at most 6 points. In our mock exam every question counts the same, so we ask for 30 correct out of 32, which is about as strict.
How is the Polish theory test structured?
There are 20 basic questions and 12 specialist questions for your licence category, with 25 minutes in total. The official pages we checked do not say how the answers are laid out, so our practice uses four-option questions on the same rules.
Can I take the Polish theory test in English?
Exam information from WORD Warszawa lists English and German as foreign-language options. Ask your own WORD before you book, because the offer can change.
Can I get a Polish driving licence at 17?
Yes. Since 3 March 2026 you can get category B at 17 with written consent from a parent or guardian. Until 18 you may drive only in Poland, and for a time an experienced adult must ride with you.
Do I need a driving school to take the theory test?
No. The official process lets you study for the theory test on your own. You still need practical training at a driving school before the practical test.
What is different about driving in Poland?
Lights must be on at all times, the alcohol limit is 0.2 per mille, and you must carry a fire extinguisher. In jams you form an emergency corridor, and where lanes merge you take turns (zipper merge).
