Canada Drone Pilot Advanced Exam Preparation 2026

This course is for drone pilots in Canada who are preparing for Transport Canada's Advanced Exam and flight review. Five lessons cover the certificate process, advanced operations near people and in controlled airspace, airspace and aerodromes, weather and radio basics, and maintenance, records and incidents. Each lesson has an untimed topic quiz with explanations, and a timed 40-question final assessment unlocks a certificate of completion when you score 80% or more. The course does not replace the Transport Canada exam or the flight review, and it does not issue a pilot certificate.

Questions fréquentes

Is this the official Transport Canada Advanced Exam?

No. This is an independent course with original questions. You take the real Advanced Exam online through Transport Canada's Drone Management Portal.

Does this course replace the flight review or give me a pilot certificate?

No. You still need to pass the Advanced Exam and a flight review with an approved flight reviewer, then apply for the Pilot Certificate – Advanced Operations through the Drone Management Portal.

What does the certificate of completion show?

It shows that you finished this course and scored at least 80% on its final assessment. It is not a Transport Canada pilot certificate, it does not count as a recency activity, and it does not let you fly advanced operations.

How is the final assessment different from the real exam?

It has 40 questions in 48 minutes, the same pace as the real exam's 50 questions in 60 minutes. Questions are drawn at random from the whole course, so each attempt is different.

What should I study besides this course?

Transport Canada bases the exam on TP 15263 and strongly recommends attending a drone flight school before the exam. Also read Part IX of the Canadian Aviation Regulations and the TC AIM.
