Questions fréquentes
Is this the official CAEC Writing test?
No. This is an independent practice course. It is not run by the CAEC Testing Service or any province or territory, and your scores here are not CAEC results.
What does the certificate from this course show?
The certificate of completion shows that you finished this practice course and scored at least 80% on its final assessment. It is not the CAEC, not a high school equivalency and not an official result, so schools and employers will not accept it in place of the CAEC.
Does the CAEC Writing test have multiple-choice editing questions?
No. The official evaluation plan lists one persuasive writing task. The quizzes in this course use multiple choice only to practise the skills that scorers look for in your essay.
How long should my CAEC essay be?
The official pages do not set a word count. Scorers judge errors in relation to the length and complexity of your writing, so aim for a complete essay: an introduction, two or three body paragraphs and a conclusion.
Can I try an official sample Writing test?
Yes. Sample tests for each subject, including Writing, are available on the CAEC digital platform. The Government of Alberta's 'How to earn your CAEC' page links to them.
Where do I register for the CAEC?
First check your province or territory's CAEC page for who can take the tests. Then create an account on the CAEC digital platform and book a test at a testing centre.
L’attestation est-elle accréditée ou reconnue officiellement ?
Non.
