يتكوّن الاختبار الرسمي من هذه الأجزاء:
- Part 1: no onscreen calculator
- Part 2: onscreen TI-30XS calculator (your own TI-30XS is allowed in a test center)
- The 115 minutes include 2 minutes of instructions and final review and a 3-minute break between parts

- Solve money, rate, ratio, scale and percent problems in US units
- Find perimeter, area, surface area and volume, and use the Pythagorean theorem
- Read tables and graphs, find the mean, median, mode and range, and work out probabilities and counts
- Write and solve linear equations, inequalities, systems and quadratic equations
- Find slopes, write equations of lines, and evaluate and compare functions
