Veelgestelde vragen
Do I need a security clearance to work at a Canadian port?
It depends on the job. A Marine Transportation Security Clearance from Transport Canada is needed for unescorted access to restricted area two and for certain designated duties. This course is background knowledge only and is not a clearance or a pass.
What is MARSEC level 1?
It is the normal level, with minimum security measures. Operators keep it at all times unless the Minister of Transport requires level 2 or 3.
What should I do if I lose my port pass?
Report it immediately to the port administration or the facility operator so it can be cancelled. Never borrow another person's pass.
Do I have to report a breach that was an accident?
Yes. Transport Canada says breaches must be reported whether they were intentional or accidental. When in doubt, report it.
